Audit Manager – Shreveport

About the role

The Audit Manager will lead the planning, execution, and reporting of financial, operational, regulatory and compliance audits across LSU and related entities. Reporting to OIA leadership, this hands‑on role works closely with senior university management to ensure audit objectives are met and continuous improvement is driven.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise auditors in the execution of audits, including planning, fieldwork, documentation, and follow‑up.
• Conduct and oversee financial, operational, compliance, and investigative audits.
• Prepare professional audit reports supported by evidential data and present findings to auditees.
• Maintain detailed progress updates, identify major findings, and manage project timelines.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with university management and auditees.
• Assist in creating a risk‑based audit plan by identifying exposures and potential impacts.
• Utilize computer‑assisted audit techniques and stay current on university systems.
• Travel within the state up to 25% of the time, including overnight trips.

• Proven supervisory experience in an audit or assurance environment.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and results‑oriented approach.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior management.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
