Audit Internship – Winter 2028 – Portland

About the role

As an Audit Intern for PwC in Portland during the Winter 2028 term, you will join the Assurance practice and take part in financial statement audit engagements. The position offers hands‑on exposure to PwC’s audit methodology, allowing you to develop core auditing skills while supporting client teams. You will work in a collaborative environment, receive guidance from experienced auditors, and build a foundation for a future CPA career.

Key responsibilities

• Assist audit teams in planning and executing financial statement audits.
• Review and verify financial documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Apply audit methodologies and accounting standards to evaluate client data.
• Conduct basic research and data‑gathering tasks to support audit procedures.
• Observe experienced auditors to learn best practices and internal‑control testing.
• Collaborate with team members to understand client relationships and audit documentation.
• Engage in client communication and documentation preparation.
• Utilize active listening to gather and interpret information during engagements.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (preference for 3.5 or higher).
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam in the state where you will be employed.
• Typically in the third year of a four‑year program or fourth year of a five‑year program at the time of application.
