Audit Internship – Winter 2028 – Kansas City

About the role

As an Audit Intern in PwC’s Assurance practice, you will join a team that delivers independent financial statement audits for a variety of clients. The winter 2028 internship offers hands‑on exposure to audit methodology, regulatory compliance and the chance to develop a solid foundation in accounting and assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Support audit teams in planning and executing financial statement audits.
• Review and verify financial documents to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights.
• Document audit procedures, findings and maintain organized workpapers.
• Apply GAAP and GAAS principles in audit tasks.
• Assist in evaluating internal controls and risk factors.
• Collaborate with team members on data‑analysis activities.
• Observe experienced auditors and learn client interaction best practices.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment before transitioning to full‑time.
• Typically in the third year of a four‑year program or fourth year of a five‑year program.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
• Data analysis abilities.
