About the role

Join PwC’s Assurance practice as an Audit Intern for the Winter 2028 term in Birmingham. You will work alongside experienced auditors, gaining hands‑on exposure to financial statement audits and learning how to support clients in meeting regulatory and transparency requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist audit teams in planning and executing financial statement audits.
• Review and verify financial documents to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision‑making.
• Document audit procedures, findings, and workpapers in an organized manner.
• Apply GAAP and GAAS principles to audit tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to assess risk factors and evaluate internal controls.
• Utilize data‑analysis techniques to enhance audit quality.
• Observe and learn from senior auditors to build foundational audit knowledge.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment before starting full‑time.
• Typically in the third year of a four‑year program or fourth year of a five‑year program.

Required skills

• Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Familiarity with GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards).
• Basic data‑analysis abilities.
