About the role

As an Audit Intern at PwC in Chicago, you will join the Assurance practice for the Summer 2028 term. The role offers hands‑on exposure to financial statement audits, allowing you to learn PwC’s methodologies while supporting client engagements and building a foundation for a future CPA career.

Key responsibilities

• Support audit teams in planning and executing financial statement audits.
• Review and verify financial documents to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in analyzing financial data and identifying trends for client decision‑making.
• Document audit procedures, findings, and workpapers in an organized manner.
• Apply GAAP and GAAS principles throughout audit tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to assess risk factors and evaluate internal controls.
• Utilize data‑analysis techniques to enhance audit quality.
• Observe and learn from experienced auditors during client interactions.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam in the state of future employment before transitioning to a full‑time role.
• Typically in the third year of a four‑year program or fourth year of a five‑year program.
