About the role

As an Audit Intern in PwC’s Assurance practice, you will join a dynamic team in Chicago and gain hands‑on experience with financial statement audits. The winter 2027 term offers exposure to audit methodology, regulatory compliance and client interaction, laying a solid foundation for a career in accounting and assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Support audit teams in planning and executing financial statement audits.
• Review and verify financial documents to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide insights.
• Document audit procedures, findings and workpapers in an organized manner.
• Apply GAAP and GAAS principles throughout audit tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to assess risk factors and evaluate internal controls.
• Utilize data‑analysis techniques to enhance audit quality.
• Observe and learn from experienced auditors during client engagements.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment before transitioning to full‑time.
• Typically in the third year of a four‑year program or fourth year of a five‑year program at the time of application.
