About the role

As an Audit Intern in PwC's Assurance practice, you will work in a dynamic learning environment in Washington DC. The position provides exposure to financial statement audits, client support initiatives, and the chance to observe and participate in the audit process. You will develop a foundational understanding of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and professional audit methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Support audit teams in conducting financial statement audits and learning auditing methodologies.
• Review and verify financial documents to ensure transparency and compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in analyzing and interpreting financial data to identify trends and provide decision‑making insights.
• Document audit processes and findings to maintain organized records.
• Learn and apply GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards).
• Collaborate with team members to monitor financial trends and assess risk factors.
• Contribute to the evaluation of internal controls and suggest improvement areas.
• Utilize data analysis skills to support audit quality and reporting.
• Observe experienced auditors to build a solid foundation in audit practices and client interactions.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment before starting full‑time.
• Typically a third‑year student in a four‑year program or fourth‑year student in a five‑year program.
