Audit Intern – Summer 2028 – San Francisco

About the role

As an Audit Intern in PwC’s Assurance practice, you will spend the summer of 2028 gaining hands‑on experience with financial statement audits for a variety of clients in San Francisco. The role combines classroom learning with real‑world exposure to audit methodology, regulatory compliance and client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Support audit teams in planning and executing financial statement audits.
• Review and verify financial documents to ensure compliance with GAAP and GAAS.
• Assist in analysing financial data, identifying trends and preparing insights for decision‑making.
• Document audit procedures, findings and workpapers in an organized manner.
• Contribute to the assessment of internal controls and risk factors.
• Apply data‑analysis techniques to enhance audit quality.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment before transitioning to full‑time.
• Typically in the third year of a four‑year program or fourth year of a five‑year program.

Required skills

• Understanding of GAAP and GAAS.
• Basic data‑analysis abilities.
