Athletics Development Officer

About the role

The Athletics Development Officer supports Texas A&M University‑Texarkana’s athletic programs by building and stewarding donor relationships. This role acts as a bridge between the Office of Advancement and the Athletics Department, promoting awareness and fundraising for scholarships, facilities, and special initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, donors, friends, and community partners for athletics fundraising priorities.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, securing annual, major, and planned gifts.
• Collaborate with athletic leadership, coaches, and advancement staff to develop fundraising strategies.
• Plan and execute athletic fundraising events, donor hospitality functions, and engagement activities.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, donor reports, and stewardship communications.
• Track donor interactions and gift commitments using the university’s CRM system.
• Ensure timely donor recognition and represent the university at campus and community events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four years of fundraising or development experience.
• Eligibility to work in the United States at the time of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency with database and spreadsheet applications.
• Experience using a constituent relationship management (CRM) system.
