Athletic Communications Associate

About the role

The Athletic Communications Associate supports the promotion and publicity of 18 NCAA Division III sports at SUNY Plattsburgh. This full‑time, 12‑month position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, ensuring the athletic programs receive consistent and engaging coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate statistics and records for all varsity sports.
• Update and design content for the athletics website.
• Create and edit video highlights and promotional material.
• Supervise student workers assisting with media and communications tasks.
• Utilize StatCrew and other relevant software to manage data and produce reports.
• Develop and execute publicity strategies for games, events, and athlete stories.

Required profile

• Demonstrated understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity‑focused policies.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork within a university athletics environment.
