Associate Veterinarian

About the role

Join Nestlé Development Center in St. Joseph, MO, where confident, well‑socialized dogs and cats support cutting‑edge pet food research. As an Associate Veterinarian you will provide clinical care for the research animals, ensuring their health and wellbeing while contributing to the science of pet nutrition.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine check‑ups, surgeries, dental care, and emergency treatments for dogs and cats.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for a range of health issues.
• Maintain vaccination and prophylactic programs.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to deliver individualized animal care.
• Ensure compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and Nestlé R&D PetCare Manual.
• Generate health certificates for incoming and outgoing animals.
• Train veterinary staff and pet‑care personnel on best practices.

Required profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
• Valid Missouri veterinary license or ability to obtain one.
• At least 1 year of professional clinical experience with canine and/or feline patients.
