Associate Teacher for Grades 6-8 (Middle Campus)

About the role

The Associate Teacher supports Lead Teachers on the Middle Campus of Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School, an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Middle Years Programme. This role assists in delivering high‑quality, internationally‑focused instruction to students in grades 6‑8.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers with instruction, assessment, and classroom management for a diverse student body, including those with IEPs or 504 plans.
• Provide academic and behavioral support, collect data on student progress, and help implement daily lesson plans.
• Assume lead‑teacher duties when the primary teacher is absent.
• Perform operational duties such as recess, lunch, dismissal, and after‑school support.
• Serve as a substitute lead teacher in other areas of the building as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to advance school goals.
• Participate fully in faculty meetings and school‑wide events.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma.
• Experience working with elementary or middle‑school students, preferably with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling and varied duties.
