Associate Surgical Account Manager – Arizona

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an experienced Associate Surgical Account Manager or Surgical Account Manager to drive growth of the Impella® product portfolio across Arizona. This field‑based position will support cardiac surgeons and heart‑failure cardiologists, helping them adopt innovative heart‑recovery technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Gain distribution and utilization of the Impella 5.5 left‑sided treatment device.
• Manage EXCEL sites and clinical programs for new surgery, heart‑failure, and ECMO technologies.
• Collaborate with cardiology sales and clinical teams to achieve quarterly growth targets.
• Engage cardiac surgeons, heart‑failure cardiologists, and the broader “Heart Team” to promote product adoption.
• Staff major conferences (HFSA, AHA, STS, AATS, ISHLT) and local heart‑failure symposiums.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of cardiac surgery or combined cardiology medical‑device sales experience for the Surgical Account Manager level, or 5+ years for the Associate level.
• Proven track record of selling in an operating room and leading teams to meet quotas.
• Established network of cardiac surgeons in the region.
• Willingness to travel 50‑75% overnight.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery and structural heart anatomy.
• Experience with technology adoption and market development in medical devices.
• Direct patient support and outcome‑driven approach.
