Associate Manufacturing - Nights (D Shift)

About the role

Amgen is hiring an Associate Manufacturing associate for its Rhode Island facility, working in the Manufacturing area, specifically solutions. The role requires applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and documenting work in batch records. It is a 12-hour D-shift (7PM-7AM) on a rotating schedule, with an onboarding period of 2-6 weeks on an administrative Monday-to-Friday schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Perform batching and transfer of buffers and media according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Follow and monitor critical processes, complete routine validation protocols and draft and revise manufacturing procedures, SOPs and technical reports
• Conduct basic troubleshooting and help review documentation for assigned functions
• May own area deviations, revise SOPs and perform LEAN functions
• Identify and implement improvements to routine functions

Required profile

• High school/GED plus 2 years of manufacturing or operations experience, or an Associate's degree plus 6 months of such experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, knowledge of large-scale biotechnology operations (purification, cell culture, aseptic processing), knowledge of single-use systems, CFR and regulatory knowledge, mechanical ability, basic statistical math skills, technical writing, project management and presentation skills, and basic chemistry, biology and physics understanding

• Understanding and application of GMP
• Basic troubleshooting on production equipment
• Experience with Delta V and lab equipment/testing
