Associate II, Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Associate II to join its Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering team in Houston. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating new production materials, equipment, and technologies to support mass production and improve product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate new production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production.
• Conduct manufacturing research and development to address production cost and quality issues.
• Perform technical feasibility tests to ensure production efficiency.
• Evaluate project capacity for process design and development.
• Develop and implement standard manufacturing procedures.
• Assess and improve production processes to reduce costs and define quality standards.
• Coordinate equipment and tool arrangements to support production.
• Select and communicate with vendors to define specifications and ensure timely, budget‑compliant delivery.
• Collaborate with partner functions such as R&D, commercial, and quality.
• Make significant project decisions and adhere to GxP regulations, SOPs, and documentation requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Advanced technical knowledge and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience conducting technical feasibility tests and developing manufacturing procedures.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.
• Commitment to regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
