Associate I – Instrumentation & Calibration Technical Support

About the role

At Alcon, the Associate I – Instrumentation & Calibration Technical Support is responsible for installing, calibrating, testing, and repairing instruments that monitor environmental conditions in a manufacturing facility. The role is 100% onsite in Fort Worth, TX and supports custom instrument design while adhering to GxP regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge to perform tasks and support project goals.
• Install, calibrate, test, and repair instruments and technologies monitoring environmental conditions.
• Inspect and test operation of instruments such as oscilloscopes, calipers, pressure gauges, and temperature controllers to diagnose faults.
• Install and maintain control and measurement instruments on plant equipment.
• Test and measure heat, light, voltage, amperage, weight, vacuum, magnetic resistance, and other parameters to ensure conformance with quality standards.
• Work with engineers to design and build custom instrument and control devices.
• Follow SOPs, GxP regulations, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure quality control.
• Follow safety procedures for proper handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
• Complete required training and contribute to compliance and continuous improvement of laboratory systems.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent reading, writing, and communication skills in English.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in instrumentation or calibration.

Required skills

• Oscilloscope operation.
• Caliper usage.
• Pressure gauge handling.
• Temperature controller calibration.
• Instrument calibration and measurement techniques.
