Associate, Guest Experience Operations

About the role

The Associate, Guest Experience Operations provides outstanding customer service to guests, members and staff at both Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and The Momentary in Bentonville, Arkansas. The role covers admission and membership activities, greeting guests at ticketed venues and gallery spaces, answering questions and acting as an ambassador who exceeds guest expectations. It reports to the Supervisor, Guest Experience Operations, is based on site in Bentonville and involves evening and weekend hours, including staffing outdoor venues.

Key responsibilities

• Circulate through scheduled posts inside and outside the buildings as the primary contact for guests, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of guests, staff, artwork and property
• Process admissions, sell and renew memberships, answer questions and relay information about exhibitions, events, programs and amenities
• Report criminal activity, fires, safety hazards, suspicious persons and accidents, and report violations of museum policy
• Deter vandalism, theft or negligence and stay alert and watchful
• Learn the ticketing software, ticket scanners and admission tablets, and assist guests with visit and ticketing options
• Balance the personal cash drawer at the end of each shift following cash-handling procedures
• Help supervisors and management resolve guest service issues, keep post locations tidy and stocked, and help with guest experience tasks during performances and events
• Handle evacuations and difficult situations per museum policy, escort visitors in and out of galleries after hours, and drive company vehicles such as shuttles and golf carts

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 6+ months of customer service, security or related experience preferred
• Driver's license required, and the driver must be insurable
• Ability to stand and walk for at least three hours, climb stairs, bend and stretch, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather and in galleries with flashing lights and loud noises
• Flexible hours due to events and staffing needs

Required skills

• Good command of general computer applications and basic math
• Prior experience with a computerized cash register and balancing a cash drawer preferred
