Associate General Counsel

About the role

The Associate General Counsel is a senior leader in the Legal Department, advising executive leadership and business teams on complex legal, regulatory, product, litigation and strategic matters for NinjaHoldings' consumer financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on the development, launch and operation of consumer financial products such as online installment loans, lines of credit and payment products.
• Advise on federal, state and local consumer finance regulations including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, GLBA, UDAAP and related state licensing laws.
• Lead cross‑functional legal and regulatory initiatives, translating requirements into operational and technology changes.
• Oversee significant litigation, arbitrations, class actions and regulatory enforcement matters, managing outside counsel and case strategy.
• Support regulatory examinations, investigations and audits, and collaborate with Compliance and other control functions.

Required profile

• J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including 5+ years in‑house at an online consumer lender, fintech or bank.
• Extensive experience advising on consumer lending products and related federal and state laws.
• Proven ability to manage complex, high‑impact matters independently and communicate legal concepts clearly to non‑lawyers.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of consumer financial services regulations (TILA, ECOA, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, GLBA, UDAAP, etc.).
• Experience with bank‑fintech partnership structures and regulatory requirements.
• Litigation management, including class actions and regulatory enforcement.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives from risk identification through implementation.
