Associate Director, Real Estate

About the role

The Texas A&M University System Offices is seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead real estate transactions and portfolio evaluation across its extensive property holdings. This senior position provides executive leadership, asset optimization, and strategic transaction management to support the system’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and negotiate high‑value acquisitions, dispositions, and complex institutional commercial leases.
• Structure, evaluate, and negotiate ground‑lease agreements for student housing, commercial uses, campus infrastructure, medical or innovation facilities, and parking complexes.
• Lead preparation, drafting, and comprehensive documentation of real‑estate transactions.
• Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel to review, clear, and finalize legal instruments, deeds, and lease agreements.
• Design and execute sophisticated financial underwriting, valuation matrices, and analyses to maximize portfolio efficiency.
• Produce detailed financial models, predictive cash‑flow analytics, and risk assessments for executive leadership.
• Assist in implementing new real‑estate software systems and tools.

Required profile

• Proven executive leadership experience in real‑estate transaction management.
• Strong background in multi‑million‑dollar institutional acquisitions and dispositions.
• Expertise in public‑private partnerships (P3) and commercial leasing.
• Ability to work within state statutes, Board of Regents rules, and system regulations.
