Associate Director of Program Outreach

About the role

The Associate Director of Program Outreach will lead strategy, recruitment, and student outreach for the Earth Commons Institute’s undergraduate and graduate programs in Environment and Sustainability at Georgetown University. This senior position focuses on building awareness, engaging prospective students, and supporting the launch of a new undergraduate degree.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute outreach campaigns that connect with prospective student audiences, emphasizing the new undergraduate program.
• Coordinate external awareness initiatives with Admissions, academic schools, and central Communications teams.
• Ensure consistent messaging, branding, and tactics across all recruitment materials.
• Create and manage program collateral, digital content, and recruitment events.
• Leverage faculty expertise, program websites, social media channels, and on‑campus activities in partnership with communications staff.
• Represent Earth Commons to internal and external stakeholders, including prospective students, alumni, and industry partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience in advertising, recruitment, or admissions (preferably higher education).
• 6+ years of experience in outreach or recruitment, preferably within a university setting.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Passion for environmental and sustainability initiatives.
• Strong writing and editing skills with experience producing recruitment collateral.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM systems (Slate preferred).
• Proficiency in communications automation tools.
