About the role

The Associate Director & K-12 Principal serves as the Chief Academic Officer of the LSU System University Laboratory School. Reporting to the School Director, this senior leader oversees instruction, curriculum, assessment, faculty development, and all educational support services across K‑12.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Director on academic strategy, curriculum continuity, and assessment practices.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate academic programs that promote high‑quality teaching and student achievement.
• Lead educational innovation by designing, testing, and demonstrating new teaching methods.
• Coordinate curriculum development across grades to ensure seamless K‑12 progression.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate academic staff.
• Manage the school’s academic budget and resources to maintain financial stability.
• Recommend policies and procedures to improve instructional outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in academic leadership within a K‑12 or laboratory school setting.
• Strong background in curriculum design, assessment, and faculty development.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leadership and grade‑level teams.
• Experience managing budgets and allocating resources for academic programs.
