Associate Director, Financial Aid

About the role

The Department of Financial Aid at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks an Associate Director to lead reporting, analysis, and system enhancements. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, you will improve operational efficiency by leveraging technology and collaborating with IT and campus partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director with daily import/export processes between the Department of Education and PeopleSoft.
• Maintain knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial Aid screens and related software (ED Connect, Image Now, COD, CPS, SAIG, NSLDS).
• Monitor financial aid procedures, ensure data‑entry standards, and keep the operations manual current.
• Test patches and upgrades, troubleshoot PeopleSoft module errors, and resolve processing issues.
• Collaborate with IT to grow the system, automate standard processes, and improve business workflows.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least five years of financial aid administration experience, including three years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of Federal Financial Aid processes (COD, CPS, NSLDS, ED Connect, FAA Access).
• Experience with awarding, verification, appeal review, and counseling students on federal aid.
