Associate Director, Finance

About the role

The Associate Director, Finance will support the Health Programs portfolio, including the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project. Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role provides financial management, supervision, and technical assistance to country teams and ensures compliance with FHI 360 and U.S. Government policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coach and guide assigned direct reports.
• Prepare award‑level financial reports and analyses such as SF 425, accruals, and revenue forecasts.
• Interact with donors and stakeholders on financial management matters.
• Manage operational and program financial elements for a portfolio of country activities.
• Develop and monitor budgets, support annual budget planning, and assist with audit reviews.
• Review cost data, analyze budgets versus actuals, and prepare forecasts.
• Oversee travel requests, procurements, and expense approvals for budget availability.
• Provide technical assistance to Country Finance staff on accounting, sub‑award management, and operations.
• Develop and implement revised financial policies and train staff on them.
• Monitor cash flows, process cash account analyses, and review sub‑recipient budgets and reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management for international development or global health projects.
• Strong supervisory and coaching abilities.
• Ability to work with confidential data and maintain compliance with donor regulations.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for interaction with senior management and external partners.
