Associate Director, Clinical Contracts

About the role

As an Associate Director of Clinical Contracts, you will join Zentalis’ legal team to drive efficient negotiation and management of clinical trial agreements and related documents. You will work closely with Clinical Operations, Regulatory and external partners to ensure contracts support the company’s oncology research programs.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, analyze, and review clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, informed consent forms, data access agreements, and related legal documents.
• Identify and escalate contractual risks, provide recommendations, and support risk‑mitigation decisions.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and external stakeholders to resolve contract issues.
• Propose and implement process improvements to increase legal team efficiency.
• Assist in developing clinical trial policies and maintaining an accurate document repository.
• Support negotiation of non‑clinical contracts such as consulting agreements, work orders, and vendor amendments.
• Apply privacy law knowledge (including GDPR) to contract language and support the company’s privacy program.
• Identify potential intellectual property concerns within agreements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating clinical trial contracts and related legal documents.
• Strong understanding of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and intellectual property considerations in biotech.
• Ability to assess contractual risk and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
• Proven track record of collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑moving biotech environment.
