Associate Designer, Women’s Mainline Handbags

About the role

We are looking for an energetic Associate Designer to support the Women’s Mainline Handbag collection at Michael Kors. The role blends market research, trend analysis and hands‑on design development in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Designer in creating sketches, CAD renderings and full‑scale technical specifications for new handbag styles.
• Conduct market and competitor research, attend inspiration trips and store visits to inform design direction.
• Prepare and manage tech packs, communicate updates with overseas factories, and track project milestones.
• Collaborate with Production, Merchandising and Materials teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout development.
• Maintain the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into brand‑relevant products.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of accessory design experience, preferably in handbags.
• Strong sense of trend awareness, detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD for creating full‑scale technical specs.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Ability to hand‑sketch designs and translate them into digital formats.
