Associate Contractor, Financial Reporting & Audits

About the role

Cover Genius, a global embedded protection platform active in over 60 countries, is seeking an Associate-level contractor to support its Financial Reporting & Audits group with local statutory audits, financial statement preparation and accounting memos. You will report to a Manager in the group and be accountable to both the Manager and the Director of Financial Reporting. The role sits at the intersection of accounting, business process and technology.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, coordinating requests, providing schedules and memos, and partnering with FP&A on key forecast inquiries.
• Maintain audit trackers, set deadlines across internal teams and escalate at-risk deliverables to leadership so they are completed on time.
• Assist in preparing local statutory financial statements and disclosures, and roll forward technical accounting memos and schedules.
• Take part in control assessments, walkthroughs and IT initiatives, and identify ways to streamline reporting processes.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of accounting, finance, reporting or audit experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Preferred: Big Four audit experience and hands-on familiarity with NetSuite.
• SOX experience is helpful but not required.

Required skills

• Ability to understand and assess external auditor requests and to communicate with third parties professionally.
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail and project management skills.
• Ability to work with people in multiple time zones.
