Associate Chemist (Entry Level)

About the role

Join Nestlé’s Fremont manufacturing site as an Associate Chemist, supporting the production of safe, high‑quality nutrition products for children. This entry‑level, off‑shift position offers hands‑on laboratory experience and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collect samples from production areas and perform routine laboratory analyses on incoming goods, in‑process samples, allergens and finished products.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, manage chemical inventory, prepare reagents and standards, and ensure proper disposal.
• Enter results into digital systems, perform peer review of data, investigate out‑of‑spec results and report to Quality Leadership.
• Collaborate with Production, Sanitation, Engineering and Quality teams to provide laboratory support on the factory floor.
• Support compliance with Nestlé, GLP, GMP and occupational health & safety policies, create work instructions and participate in internal audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of analytical testing, instrumentation, good laboratory practices and laboratory safety.
• Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.

Required skills

• Analytical testing and instrumentation.
• Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital data entry tools.
