Associate Accountant (Junior Level)

About the role

Extreme Nitrogen, a leading nitrogen services provider in the United States, is expanding its finance function after a recent acquisition. We are seeking a motivated Associate Accountant with 2‑4 years of experience to support the division’s day‑to‑day accounting activities and help shape processes as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable: code vendor invoices, route for approval, schedule payments.
• Manage accounts receivable: generate customer invoices, follow up collections, apply cash.
• Assist month‑end close: prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, post accruals and conduct variance analysis.
• Build and maintain Excel‑based reports and dashboards for management.
• Support process improvement and internal control development post‑acquisition.
• Collaborate with field operations, sales, and corporate accounting to resolve discrepancies.
• Participate in the Oracle Fusion ERP implementation and develop system proficiency.
• Execute ad‑hoc projects and analyses as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience, including internships or public‑accounting exposure.
• Strong initiative, ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and a detail‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivots, lookups, data manipulation).
• Working knowledge of core accounting principles (debits & credits, accrual vs. cash).
• Familiarity with ERP systems – Oracle Fusion ERP preferred; QuickBooks a plus.
