Assistant/Associate Professor – Textiles, Apparel Design & Merchandising

About the role

The LSU College of Agriculture seeks a tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Textiles, Apparel Design, and Merchandising. The position balances teaching, research, and service within a vibrant academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as Retail Mathematics, Retail Buying, Sustainability for Apparel, Global Textile Economics, Fashion Entrepreneurship, and Research Methods.
• Develop an independent and collaborative research program focused on merchandising technology, artificial‑intelligence integration, digital retailing, consumer behavior, and fashion branding.
• Secure external funding for scholarly activities and disseminate research findings through publications and presentations.
• Provide advising and recruitment support for both undergraduate and graduate students.
• Engage with professional organizations, develop industry partnerships, and contribute to departmental service initiatives.

Required profile

• Tenure‑track faculty appointment (Assistant or Associate Professor level).
• Demonstrated ability to teach and develop curricula in textiles, apparel design, and merchandising.
• Strong research record or potential in areas such as merchandising technology, AI, or digital retailing.
• Commitment to student advising, recruitment, and professional service.
