Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology

About the role

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Drake University seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacology to join its faculty. The successful candidate will contribute to both teaching and research missions, fostering innovative learning and advancing a fundable research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Teach core and elective courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) programs.
• Develop and maintain an externally funded research program in pharmacology.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research projects.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and outreach activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in pharmacology or a closely related field.
• Post‑doctoral training is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in physiology, pathophysiology, or cardiovascular systems.
• Commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion within the academic community.

Required skills

• Expertise in pharmacology and related biomedical sciences.
• Ability to design and secure research funding.
