About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to join the Clinical Health Professions (CHP) Physician Assistant program. This faculty position combines teaching, clinical practice, research, and service to advance health professional education and patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate instruction in physician assistant curricula.
- Supervise clinical rotations and provide direct patient care in affiliated health facilities.
- Develop and conduct scholarly research, securing external funding when possible.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including curriculum development and committee work.
- Mentor students, residents, and junior faculty in academic and clinical competencies.
Required profile
- Doctor of Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent) with current state licensure.
- Board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical practice and health professions education.
- Evidence of scholarly activity, such as publications, presentations, or grant involvement.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and patient care.
