Assistant/Associate Professor – Career & Technical Education & Work‑Based Learning Coordinator

About the role

The Department of the Built Environment at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor to lead Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and coordinate Work‑Based Learning (WBL) and Career Counseling certificates. The position will be based at the Baltimore Museum of Industry starting August 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in CTE, WBL, and career counseling.
• Coordinate state‑approved certificate programs that lead to CTE teaching licensure and WBL coordinator endorsement.
• Conduct scholarly research, publish, and secure external funding.
• Provide academic advising and career counseling to students.
• Collaborate with industry partners and community organizations to enhance experiential learning opportunities.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Technical Education, Engineering Education).
• Demonstrated experience in CTE, work‑based learning, or career counseling.
• Record of scholarly activity and a commitment to student success.
• Eligibility for tenure‑track appointment at a public university.

Required skills

• Curriculum development aligned with ACCE and MSDE standards.
• Knowledge of state licensure and endorsement processes for CTE teachers.
• Ability to manage certificate programs and coordinate industry partnerships.
