Assistant/Associate Extension Agent – 4-H Youth Development

About the role

The LSU AgCenter East Feliciana Parish Office is seeking an Assistant or Associate Extension Agent to lead the parish‑wide 4‑H youth development program. The position is based in Clinton, Louisiana, and serves a community of roughly 21,000 residents, including over 2,000 youth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and expand the 4‑H youth development program across East Feliciana Parish.
• Build and maintain relationships with 4‑H adult volunteers, the parish advisory committee, local nonprofits, and LSU AgCenter staff.
• Develop and deliver life‑skills educational content and volunteer training that is culturally responsive.
• Collaborate with schools, agencies, and multi‑parish projects to promote agricultural education and strong families.
• Create program materials such as presentations, posters, and web‑based resources.
• Contribute to scholarly publications and professional service activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work with culturally, ethnically, and socio‑economically diverse audiences.
• Experience in youth leadership development, community service learning, or related fields.
• Strong interpersonal skills for partnership building with volunteers, schools, and community organizations.
• Commitment to LSU AgCenter’s mission of supporting agriculture and family well‑being.
