Assistant Women's Basketball Coach (NCAA Division III)

About the role

Carleton College seeks a dedicated Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach to support its competitive NCAA Division III program. Working primarily from September through March, you will help shape the athletic and academic experience of student‑athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and executing team training, travel logistics, practice sessions, and game preparation.
• Participate in recruiting efforts, helping to identify, attract, matriculate, and retain high‑performing student‑athletes.
• Attend coaching and departmental meetings, and complete required training and certification programs.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, MIAC, and Carleton Athletic Department policies.
• Support student‑athletes in balancing academic and athletic commitments while demonstrating sportsmanship.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS).
• 1–2 years of coaching or playing experience at the collegiate level.
• Strong commitment to student‑athlete development and passion for basketball.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license.
