Assistant Superintendent – Commercial Construction

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Superintendent to support our Superintendent in delivering commercial construction projects across Southeast Michigan. Based in Auburn Hills, you will gain hands‑on experience in job‑site coordination, safety leadership, quality control, and project close‑out while working toward a future Superintendent position.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short‑term (2‑4 week) job‑site activities and communicate plans with trade contractors.
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three‑week look‑ahead planning.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure alignment with timelines and project requirements.
• Facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and authorities.
• Uphold safety, quality, environmental standards, and site cleanliness.
• Maintain detailed daily reports, track labor hours, and submit trade hour reports.
• Participate in and help lead on‑site coordination and progress meetings.

Required profile

• Preferred 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication with clients, project teams, and trade partners.
