Assistant Superintendent – Commercial Construction

About the role

Clark is seeking a motivated Assistant Superintendent to support field leadership on commercial construction projects across Southeast and Central Michigan. You will work directly with the Superintendent to keep sites on schedule, maintain safety and quality standards, and coordinate daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating short‑term (2‑4 week) jobsite activities and communicate plans with trade contractors.
• Support development and maintenance of the project schedule, including three‑week look‑ahead planning.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure alignment with timelines and project requirements.
• Facilitate timely approvals and documentation with architects, engineers, and authorities.
• Uphold safety, quality, environmental standards, and site cleanliness.
• Maintain detailed daily reports, track labor hours, and submit trade hour reports.
• Participate in and help lead onsite coordination and progress meetings.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar field role (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication with clients, project teams, and trade partners.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
