Assistant Stunt & Cheer Coach

About the role

The Assistant Stunt & Cheer Coach supports Texas A&M University–Kingsville’s Stunt and Cheer programs by delivering technical instruction, coordinating team operations, and fostering student‑athlete growth both on and off the field.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting practices, conditioning sessions, and skill‑development drills for stunt and cheer athletes.
• Provide instruction in game‑day cheer, stunting, tumbling, pyramids, jumps, and routine execution.
• Support choreography, routine preparation, and competition/game‑day performance.
• Contribute to recruiting efforts and help identify prospective student‑athletes.
• Coordinate team logistics, travel, scheduling, and equipment management.
• Promote academic success, personal development, and compliance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations.
• Mentor athletes, monitor progress, and reinforce sportsmanship, leadership, and accountability.

Required profile

• Experience coaching stunt, cheer, or related performance sports at the collegiate level.
• Ability to mentor and develop student‑athletes academically and personally.
• Knowledge of NCAA compliance and university athletic policies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
