Assistant Store Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager role is a full‑time, on‑site position in Arcadia, CA, supporting the Store Manager with daily store operations. You will lead and coach a retail team to deliver J.Jill’s high‑touch customer experience, drive sales, and uphold brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee floor coverage and ensure a clean, organized store environment.
• Assist with visual merchandising and maintain on‑brand presentation.
• Monitor inventory levels, handle cash, and support loss‑prevention measures.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and performance feedback for associates.
• Analyze sales results, execute promotions, and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Retail leadership experience, preferably in apparel or lifestyle specialty stores.
• Strong customer service and sales abilities with a track record of meeting goals.
• Operational knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and loss prevention.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, fashion, or related fields is a plus.
