Assistant Store Manager

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing all store functions, learning every phase of store operations and stepping in to lead the store when the manager is absent. This role ensures that company standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements are consistently met while delivering a high‑quality shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise assigned store areas under the Store Manager’s direction.
• Lead the entire store operation in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Analyze store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and overall performance.
• Schedule associates to meet business objectives and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
• Oversee payroll administration, including daily punch edits, scheduling compliance, and payroll reporting.
• Ensure store cleanliness, including restroom maintenance.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and developing non‑exempt associates.
• Handle associate relations issues and communicate incidents to senior leadership.
• Control expenses by monitoring expenditures and payroll hours.

Required profile

• Ability to lead store operations and supervise staff effectively.
• Knowledge of payroll administration and scheduling processes.
• Understanding of state, local, and federal compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills for reviewing store performance reports.
