Assistant Softball Coach

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support its competitive NCAA Division II women’s softball program. This full‑time position works closely with the Head Coach to develop student‑athletes on and off the field.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing all phases of the softball program, including practices, games, and tournaments.
• Support recruiting efforts, schedule coordination, travel logistics, and budget management.
• Supervise athletes, monitor academic progress, and promote student‑athlete welfare.
• Participate in fundraising activities and community outreach.
• Teach physical education courses as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of NCAA and Great American Conference bylaws.
• Commitment to the academic success and personal development of student‑athletes.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and develop athletes to achieve peak performance.

Required skills

• Understanding of softball coaching techniques and strategies.
• Experience with recruiting, scheduling, and budget oversight.
• Ability to teach health and physical education courses.
