Assistant Project Manager

About the role
The Assistant Project Manager supports the internal project team throughout the lifecycle of construction projects, ensuring accurate change order estimation and smooth site operations. This fast‑paced role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic construction environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare daily reports, review and enter submittals, and track RFI’s and submittals.
- Maintain change order and submittal logs; prepare accurate change orders from work orders and drawings.
- Perform detailed take‑offs and estimates for all trades, including labor, materials, equipment and delivery costs.
- Negotiate subcontractor pricing, issue purchase orders, and level subcontractor bids.
- Coordinate site equipment and material deliveries, assist the superintendent with trade scheduling, and handle on‑site paperwork.
- Collect and submit subcontractor close‑out documents and support financial close‑out of projects.
- Track approved and pending change orders against the project budget and alert the project manager to potential financial issues.
Required profile
- Previous experience in construction management and familiarity with construction sites.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Raken, or Sage 300.
- Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven and able to adapt to a flexible schedule.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
