Assistant Project Manager

About the role

JRM is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of high‑quality construction projects across the United States. The role involves managing change orders, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining project documentation with a strong degree of independence.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process Change Orders from inception through purchase order issuance, including pricing review and subcontractor negotiation.
• Level subcontractor proposals and scopes, flagging discrepancies or risks.
• Manage procurement timelines and long‑lead item coordination.
• Maintain the project submittal log and escalate critical items.
• Update and track the Schedule of Events (SOE) and project milestones.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop the Subcontractor Build Schedule.
• Lead the financial close‑out process, reconciling PO, billing, and retention.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders and lead subcontractor meetings as needed.
• Identify and escalate scope or financial risks and contribute to resolution strategies.
• Mentor Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project logistics.
• Solid understanding of subcontract scopes, sequencing, and budget impacts.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication, adaptable to different audiences.
• Alignment with JRM’s core values.
