Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

About the role

Lever Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction projects across the DFW area. The role offers immediate responsibility on real projects, working side‑by‑side with senior project managers and leadership from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Support projects from pre‑construction through close‑out, managing RFIs, submittals, change orders and close‑out documents in Procore.
• Draft and track subcontractor agreements and purchase orders, solicit bids, and coordinate sub‑contractor schedules and deliveries.
• Assist with project schedules in Microsoft Project, track procurement, prepare monthly pay applications and flag budget risks early.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality and safety, and collaborate with superintendents on field issues.
• Attend owner and architect meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and keep leadership informed.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of commercial construction experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager or similar role.
• Working knowledge of commercial construction methods and ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Required skills

• Procore experience (strongly preferred).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
• Basic knowledge of Bluebeam (a plus).
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
