Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our commercial interior construction projects across New York City. The role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and drawing revisions.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical project files.
• Assist with project schedules, logistics, permits, and client communications.
• Prepare weekly project reports, including meeting minutes, progress photos, and logs.
• Support LEED documentation and coordination when applicable.
• Manage PlanGrid and Timberline updates for drawings, submittals, and logs.
• Facilitate third‑party inspections and ensure required documentation is in place.
• Oversee collection of closeout documents, warranties, and as‑builts.
• Assist with procurement, purchase orders, and subcontractor coordination.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
• Experience with Timberline (preferred).
• Experience with PlanGrid.
