About the role

The Department of Mathematics at Louisiana State University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to join the faculty beginning in the fall semester of 2027. This full‑time position involves both research and teaching responsibilities across undergraduate and graduate programs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research in mathematics leading to publications in scholarly journals or advanced textbooks.
• Teach mathematics courses at all university levels, adhering to departmental policies and standards.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the mathematical sciences or a closely related field (ABD candidates considered if degree is awarded by August 15 2027).
• Demonstrated potential for research excellence and a commitment to graduate and undergraduate education.
• Preferred: two or more years of post‑doctoral or academic experience beyond the doctorate.
