About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking an Assistant Professor on a tenure‑track basis within its College of Medicine. The position is a regular faculty appointment focused on teaching, research, and service to advance the university’s mission of improving health care and education.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in the relevant discipline.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research, publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals, and secure external funding.
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to students and trainees.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including committees and community outreach.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a field appropriate to the department.
