Assistant Professor, Physician Assistant Education

About the role

Saint Louis University’s Physician Assistant Program is seeking a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor to join its Clinical Health Sciences Department. The faculty member will contribute to both didactic (Phase I) and clinical (Phase II) education, support student advising, and engage in scholarly activities over a 12-month, 0.8 FTE appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop curriculum for Phase I (didactic) and Phase II (clinical) courses.
• Provide academic advising, counseling, and remediation for PA students.
• Participate in admissions, student progress assessments, and program accreditation activities.
• Maintain a clinical practice of 4–8 hours per week to stay current in the field.
• Contribute to faculty development, research, and service to the university and professional community.
• Potentially teach courses in the upcoming online Doctor of Medical Science (DMS) program.

Required profile

• NCCPA certification and eligibility for PA licensure in Missouri or Illinois.
• Master’s degree (required); doctoral degree or intent to pursue preferred.
• Minimum three years of clinical experience.
