Assistant Professor of Neuroscience (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

The Neuroscience Program at Carleton College seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Neuroscience to begin on September 1, 2027. The position combines undergraduate teaching with the development of an active research program that involves students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Foundations in Neuroscience with a laboratory component.
• Teach an upper‑level Neurobiology course with a laboratory component.
• Lead a seminar in the candidate’s area of expertise.
• Develop and maintain an undergraduate research program.
• Engage in grant writing and secure research support.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a related field (completion by September 2027 acceptable).
• Post‑doctoral experience preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Ability to contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Required skills

• Expertise in electrophysiology.
