About the role
The School for Classical & Contemporary Dance at Texas Christian University seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Dance. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty to teach contemporary dance technique and related academic courses, beginning August 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Teach contemporary dance technique and studio courses for BFA students.
- Develop and deliver classroom‑based courses such as dance theory, history, teaching methods, and anatomy.
- Engage in creative and scholarly research consistent with tenure‑track expectations.
- Contribute to departmental service, student mentorship, and community outreach.
Required profile
- Terminal degree in Dance or a related field, or an MA with at least seven years of professional performing/teaching experience.
- Minimum three years of pre‑professional teaching experience.
- Evidence of a scholarly or creative research trajectory.
- Commitment to a collaborative, care‑focused academic environment.
