About the role

The Department of History at Louisiana State University seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor specializing in Modern East Asian History. The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty community, teaching both survey courses in World History and advanced seminars focused on the nineteenth or twentieth centuries.

Key responsibilities

Teach two courses each semester, including World History surveys and upper‑level East Asian history classes.
Mentor graduate students pursuing the Global History minor.
Conduct scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed venues, and present at conferences.
Participate in departmental and university service activities.

Required profile

Ph.D. in History or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly research.
